Asus Fonepad 7 (2014), also known as Asus Fonepad 7 FE170CG, is an affordable Android tablet with telephony functionality. It supports GSM voice communication, SMS, and MMS. It also offers Dual SIM card capability (optional). If you want to be more efficient and practical, the Dual SIM version could be a better option. The tablet sports 7.0″ screen with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels and 170 ppi pixel density. The quality of the visuals isn’t impressive but not bad to support simple tasks, like reading email, browsing images through the web and watching videos. You might only miss a bit of sharpness and details. Too bad the screen has visibility issue under direct sunlight.
Asus Fonepad 7 FE170CG uses Android v4.3 (Jelly Bean) operating system. It is armed with an Intel Atom Z2520 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. The Fonepad 7 has pretty good performance in general. There is no problem in running apps and it can handle multitasking well. It even has the capability to launch few high-end games. For the storage, it offers 4/8 GB built-in memory (optional) and includes memory card slot for storage expansion. You can add microSD card up to 64 GB.
The Fonepad 7 only has 2 MP camera for its main camera. It is embedded on the back of the tablet. The camera features autofocus, geo-tagging and video recording capability. As addition, you can also find a secondary VGA camera on the front panel.

Before performing hard reset or factory data reset, it’s better to back up all of your important files. This process will erase all data.
- Make sure the device has enough power (properly charged) to perform factory data reset.
- Go to menu and tap Setting.
- Find Backup & Reset.
- Tap Factory Data Reset > Reset Device.
- Select Delete All
