Sophisticated smartphones consume more power and their batteries usually last no longer than a day. It can be tricky when you’re in a trip or cannot access power source to charge your smartphones immediately. Here are some tips to save battery life:
1. Switch off Wi-Fi when you don’t need it. When the Wi-Fi is on, your phone actively and constantly tries to connect to every Wi-Fi signal in the area. It means the phone will consume more power. To stop wasting power, it is better to switch off Wi-Fi when you don’t need it.
2. Uninstall unused apps. You may have some apps in your smartphone that are rarely or never been used. Even you might not remember anymore why certain apps are there. If that happens, it’s time to reduce the burden of your smartphone by deleting all unnecessary apps. It doesn’t only help to save battery life, but also make the phone performs better.
3. Set a rigid bedtime. Using automation tools that allows you to turn off the mobile signal and Wi-Fi after a certain time may help you save power too. You can set an airplane mode when you are asleep or use blocking modes to limit your phone’s functions at certain times of the day. The point is to deactivate any non-essential stuff when you don’t use it.
4. Switch off vibrate. The phone needs more power to vibrate than just to ring. Switch on vibrate only when you need to add awareness.
5. Do not use auto brightness. In most case, the screen can consume more power than any other parts of the phone, so it’s better to manage the screen wisely. Manually setting up the brightness level is considered to be more efficient as auto brightness is usually much brighter that you really need.
6. Use only Wi-Fi to upload and sync. It takes less connectivity time to complete the process and you can save the old lithium reserves.
7. Enable push notifications. It depends on the mail providers. It they provide push notification support, you can use it to lessen power drain.
8. Use dark background. It can work in AMOLED screens since they only illuminate the colored pixels. If there are more black pixels on the background, less battery is needed to light them up.
9. Activate battery saving mode. If your phone has this power saving feature, do not waste it.
