HTC Desire HD offers a spacious 4.3″ LCD display and very responsive capacitive touchscreen. With a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels (217 ppi pixel density), the display looks pretty good. It delivers good color accuracy and good brightness. Viewing angles are not bad either. The spacious onscreen keyboard allows you to type more comfortably, even if you have big fingers. The touchscreen enables smooth navigation through menus. It also supports Multitouch. Corning Gorilla Glass covers the screen and prevents scratches. You can also find HTC Sense UI, Accelerometer and Proximity sensor.
HTC Desire HD uses Android v2.2 (Froyo) / v2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system. Unfortunately, it is not upgradable to v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). For the hardware, it packs 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU and 768 MB of RAM. The Desire HD shows good performance. It doesn’t take too much time in launching various apps. It is also capable of multitasking. To store your files, it offers a 1.5 GB built-in memory and a pre-installed 8 GB microSD card. The memory card is expandable up to 32 GB.
HTC Desire HD has a nice 8 MP camera on the back of its body. The camera is equipped with autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection and video recording capability (720p). Too bad Desire HD doesn’t include a front-facing camera that can be used for video calling.

Performing HTC Desire HD factory reset via settings
- From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings.
- Tap SD & phone storage > Factory data reset.
- On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.
Performing HTC Desire HD factory reset using phone buttons
If you can’t turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
- With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
- Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
- Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.
