Nokia Asha 503 is a budget phone with relatively small size and eye-catching design. It sports a 3.0″ capacitive touchscreen which has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 133 ppi pixel density. The quality of the display won’t impress you much, but it seems acceptable to support basic tasks. The touchscreen is responsive and supports multitouch (up to 2 fingers). It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. However, it might not be the best for large fingers since there is not much space on its virtual keyboard. The Asha 503 looks a bit bulky, but it feels solid and comfortable to hold. It is very practical too.
Nokia Asha software platform 1.2 is installed in this phone. In terms of performance, Nokia Asha 503 is not too disappointing. It is pretty reliable to handle simple tasks although you need patience to face slight delays. The 1,200mAh battery has a standby time of 35 days and a rated talk time of 4.5 hours over 3G (12 hours over 2G). To store you files, the Asha 503 provides a pre-installed 4 GB microSD card which can be expanded up to 32 GB. A 5 MP camera is not bad for a budget phone. You can find it on the rear panel. It features LED flash and video recording capability (480p@19fps). Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t have front-facing camera which can support video calling.
